The MassConn Sustainable Forest Partnership (coordinated by Opacum Land Trust) was recently awarded a Forest Legacy Program grant to protect 1,011 acres of forest in our region, aptly titled the “Emerald Forest Borderlands.” This prestigious federal grant will be implemented over the next several years, bringing in $2.5 million to protect land in the region. Working with local landowners, we will protect important forests, and open new trails to the public afterwards!
