Discover the secret superpowers of native plants and why our butterflies, bees, and birds can’t live without them in this hands-on adventure for young explorers!

COST: $15 per container garden (families can choose to make a single garden or one for each child)

Join Opacum Land Trust and Hitchcock Academy for a fun and educational workshop where children (ages 6+) and families will explore the amazing world of native plants! Discover why native plants are so important for our local environment and to the birds, bees, and butterflies that depend on them.

During this hands-on class, you’ll learn about native plant species and their benefits to wildlife and ecosystems, create your very own native plant container garden to take home and watch grow, and make a colorful plant identification stake craft to label your new plants.
