Join Chief Ranger Bill Reid from The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor and learn about many of the mammals that live here in our region.
We’ll examine life-size plastic reproductions of mammal skulls and through close examination of specific features of each skull, determine if the animal is a prey or predator, and if it is a carnivore, herbivore, or omnivore. After examining each skull we’ll look at color pictures of each animal and determine which skull belongs to which species of animal. Depending on the number of attendees, each participant will get a chance examine and hold a skull with Ranger Bill and assist in its identification.
This program is geared for children in elementary school, though kids of all ages are welcome to participate.
