Join us in celebrating the successful completion of the Southbridge Tree Planting Project!

When: October 15, 2024 @ 2PM

Where: War Memorial Park, next to the Fire Station (Fire Station is located at 24 Elm St, Southbridge)

We are thrilled to announce the completion of our ambitious urban reforestation initiative in Southbridge. This project has significantly increased the green canopy in our urban areas, bringing numerous environmental and quality-of-life benefits to our community.

Event Highlights:

– Speeches from project leaders and city officials
– Guided tours of newly planted areas
– Family-friendly activities and refreshments

Project Achievements:

– 727 trees planted across Southbridge
– Increased urban shade cover to lower summer temperatures
– Enhanced air quality, improving health of the community
– Actively absorbing carbon dioxide to counter climate change
– Created new habitats for local wildlife

This project would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers and tree planting staff and the cooperation of Southbridge town officials and support from the U.S. Forest Service and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Let’s come together to celebrate this achievement and the greener future we are creating for Southbridge!
