Stevens Brook Sichol Community Forest

The Stevens Brook Sichol Community Forest is a beautiful forested parcel through which flows Stevens Brook, a pristine trout stream. Consisisting of about 150 acres, it is owned by by the Town of Holland and is available for recreation such as walking, hiking, mountain biking, nature viewing, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing, hunting and fishing. There are nearly four miles of well-marked trails with signs and maps to aid the user. Leashed dogs are welcome, but motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Trails: Suggested Hikes:

1. From the trailhead, take the yellow trail. Turn right on the white trail.
This trail crosses private property. Please respect the generosity of
the owners by staying on the path. When that trail ends, turn right
and follow the blue trail to Blodgett Road. Turn right and follow
Blodgett Road back to the trailhead. (.9 miles)

2. From the trailhead, take the yellow trail. Turn left on the orange trail
which loops back. There are some beautiful stone walls to
admire.Turn right on the yellow trail to return to the trailhead.(1.42
miles)

3. From the trailhead, take the yellow trail. Turn left on the orange trail
which loops back. In September you will see a beautiful stand of
cardinal flowers. Continue on the white trail. Where that trail ends,
turn right and follow the blue trail to connect with Blodgett Road.
Follow Blodgett Road to return to the trailhead. (1.84 miles)

4. From the trailhead, take the yellow trail. Turn right on the white trail.
When that trail ends, turn left, and follow the blue trail to the bridge.
Follow the cart road until the blue markers lead to the right and take a
left turn uphill into the forest. The trail loops back across the cart road
to follow Stevens Brook upstream. Here you will see some of the
prettiest spots on Stevens Brook. Turn right to get to the bridge.
Follow the blue trail to Blodgett Road to return to the trailhead. (2.63
miles)

5. To walk the entire trail system, from the trailhead, take the yellow
trail. Turn left on the orange trail which loops back. Continue on the
white trail. Where it ends, turn left on the blue trail to the bridge.
Follow the cart road until the blue markers lead to the right and take a
left turn uphill into the forest. The trail loops back across the cart road
to follow Stevens Brook upstream. Turn right to get to the bridge.
Follow the blue trail to Blodgett Road to return to the trailhead. (3.57
miles

Directions: The trailhead, on Blodgett Road in Holland, Massachusetts has parking for ten or twelve vehicles.
