Calling all cyclists! Join Opacum Land Trust for a fun filled day of bikes, food, craft beer and live entertainment during this year’s Tour Opacum bike ride!

Explore the most beautiful backroads, rolling hills, and wooded forests that New England has to offer. Situated in the rolling uplands of central Massachusetts in the watersheds of the Quaboag and Quinebaug rivers, The Tour Opacum will provide an exploration of the most scenic roads that this region has to offer, while passing several of the properties that Opacum Land Trust has conserved along the way.

Four different route options (100, 50, 25 and 7.5 miles) will provide riders of all abilities a great opportunity to get out and see this beautiful part of the state. All of the routes start and end at Rapscallion Brewery, where a celebration of Land Conservation, including live music, food and craft beer will take place at the end of the ride. Fully stocked rest stops and SAG support will be offered on all routes.

All registrants will receive a free beer or alternate beverage, courtesy of Rapscallion Brewery, while the first 50 registrants receive a free event t-shirt. Riders between the ages of 10 to 16 are free but must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Proceeds from this event will go to Opacum’s newest conservation project – the 76 acre Dingley Dell property. Set on a rolling hillside adjoining Brimfield State Forest, this property is heavily wooded area crossed by a stream with a cascading waterfall, a natural spring which locals have been using for more than a century, and a 2 ½ story high boulder. With your help, Opacum Land Trust hopes to create and preserve a beautiful property to be shared by friends and family alike for years to come!
